Hey! Here are some links to comics or blogs or other things that I really like. It needs updating really badly though, one day I'll get round to adding a new bunch of links.
Hi! So, on monday I set up a facebook page for the comic, go and like it for newsbites that might not get a mention anywhere else, although I admit mostly it’ll just be telling you when I’ve updated.
Also: Remember! You’ve got about a month to do something for the 100th comic celebration. Art, writing, comic, whatever, send it in! Okay? Okay.
So, this morning, I hand in the sketchbooks and written stuff for my Foundation Final Major Project. That’s IT. Foundation year work OVER. However I did start a job the other night that’ll have me working many, many evenings. So things are sort of the same in terms of free time? It’s just at different times of the day.
I’m actually pretty happy with how this comic came out, considering it was a) something of a rush job because of the aforementioned handing in of work, and b) because I’m trying something new with the colouring, more specifically the highlights. It’s not perfect, but it’s definitely not BAD and with a little practice I think I’m going to love the effect!
Since this blurb/news post thing is being written at the same time as wednesdays I’ll have you know the tired thing hasn’t changed from a couple of minutes ago.
Hope you had a good weekend! It’d also be nice if you’d spent a small part of it promoting the comic, but that’s not obligatory. So! Time for Sarah’s profile!
Day One:
Sarah didn’t do a whole lot in this chapter, although she was the first to say hi to Jenn on the as yet unnamed (and forever nonexistant) social networking site they use in this comic.
Projects:
Sarah was however one of the focuses of this chapter. Fed up with not being able to wake up without a coffee, Sarah decides to go cold turkey on caffiene, a decision which is NOT supported by Jamie and Neeve, who get Jenn to try to stop Sarah. This backfires, with Jenn making a pact with Sarah to keep up their personal projects. Over the weekend Sarah gets a haircut, and back at school she discovers that Jenn has officially given up her end of the pact. Initially angry, Jenn points out that this is a good excuse to start drinking caffiene again, as Sarah had been struggling. A lot. Sarah switches to tea instead of coffee at the end of the chapter.
Uniform:
As the member of the gang with the most businessy wardrome, Sarah is unconcerned by the stricter uniform regulations. However, she is a bit frustrated when Neeve discovers her sort of thing with their fellow art student Tom Taylor. Sarah’s fed up with the pressures of ‘dating’ so when it comes to her not-date with Tom at the weekend, where she decides to make the move forward to it being a relationship, she asks if rather than dating they could ‘just have fun’. This ends up with them being all over each other at any possible moment at college. Which is fair enough I guess. Unless you have to watch.
And that’s you up to date with Sarah! Sarah can be pretty fun to write sometimes, mostly because she’s quiet enough that it forces me to try to use SUBTEXT. I don’t think I’m always successful but it doesn’t make it any less fun. Anyway, time for her bands! Once again, ‘singers’ is probably more appropriate.
So, chapter ends friday, and then for a few weeks instead of comics you’re going to get a character profile an update day. Anything you want to see in these profiles, feel free to tell me! Suggestions so far: favourite bands, what they’re studying, and you know, their name? Having their name might help a bit. It’s because of my final major project at college, I really need to give that my focus till its over.
This comic’s pretty rushed because I had a uni interview yesterday and got back late enough that I felt pretty tired, but I didn’t want to give you guys a filler comic, especially this close to the chapter end.
Heya! Sorry, there’s no April Fool gag from me. Couldn’t think of a decent one, and didn’t want to get sidetracked from the story.
Okay, news: this chapter is ending in 2-4 weeks. Not sure exactly how long, depends how my story translates into scripts and then into comics, the pacing will vary. BUT YES. Point is: for the in between chapter stuff, is there anything you guys would particularly be interested in seeing? I definitely need some sort of break, as it’ll be in the middle of my final major project for college and that’ll have to be my focus, so yeah.
Also, as ever guest content would be more than welcome for the in between chapter stage, just email whatever you produce to me at g(dot)johnson(dot)rsn(at)gmail(dot)com
