Hey!
So, I start my final term of my foundation year today, Final Major Project time, so comics may get rushed.
Also, any ideas for what to do between chapters would help! Guest content is good too.
(sorry if you follow on the RSS feet by the way, I might have messed it up by screwing up the filename)
Heya! Sorry, there’s no April Fool gag from me. Couldn’t think of a decent one, and didn’t want to get sidetracked from the story.
Okay, news: this chapter is ending in 2-4 weeks. Not sure exactly how long, depends how my story translates into scripts and then into comics, the pacing will vary. BUT YES. Point is: for the in between chapter stuff, is there anything you guys would particularly be interested in seeing? I definitely need some sort of break, as it’ll be in the middle of my final major project for college and that’ll have to be my focus, so yeah.
Also, as ever guest content would be more than welcome for the in between chapter stage, just email whatever you produce to me at g(dot)johnson(dot)rsn(at)gmail(dot)com
Have a good weekend guys!
Heyo! That’s like hey, and hello? Um. Put together? My brain does these things, shush.
So, the interview happened. Don’t know how it went yet, but there’s no use worrying about it. Says the guy who was freaking out all Tuesday and Wednesday yes I know. Still though.
Anyway, assessment for the second college module is sometime next week, comics will be looking a little rushed like this one was. That said, I think it’s actually helping me loosen up and forget the ‘rules’ which is something I’ve been trying to do for ages. But yes. There is a lot of potential for rushed comics at the moment. but after this assessment, it’s ‘trip week’ to, um, London (College is in North Greenwich. Go figure) then a break and then the final major project! In fact, trip week is technically part of that. But yes, this foundation year is working to a head now.
Also, I was going to wait till they updated the website, but it doesn’t look like that’s happening, so I’ll just tell you that I have a table at the London Small Press Expo on the 12th, I’m taking over the table of Graham Howie of Chicken & Chips cos he can’t make it. Chicken & Chips is a great comic about primary school kids, check it out!
I think that’s all. Have a great weekend folks!
HI!
Depending on when you read this, I’m probably either on my way to a University interview, in a University interview, on the way back from a University interview, or I could just be at home.
SO YES the art was a little rushed because getting ready for the interview was a priority. sorry. I kinda like it though? And I’m glad I’ve finally given Tess a proper intro, she’s fun to draw and to write for.
I did film a little flick through of my big portfolio but when I tried uploading it to places it didn’t work, so you will have to use THE POWER OF YOUR IMAGINATION. But yes, wishes of luck would be very much appreciated, if you’re into that sorta thing.
OOOOOOH! It’s chapter 3. The linework here is a bit messy(-er than usual) as I’m getting used to a new pen, bear with me!
Also a few links that I think you should know about:
Firstly, the self serving one of my Flickr which I’ve updated a couple of times since last reminding you about it
Gary Northfield started a great webcomic a couple of weeks ago, Burp the Caveman, only three comics so far so not much to catch up on, but definitely worth doing so!
And finally Joel Golby who I talked about quite a few months ago finally did himself up a website and it als looks like he got himself a scanner too. Good for him.
I have my first Uni interview from this lot of uni applications on wednesday! Don’t worry, you’re still getting a comic though.
