Can you tell that I missed Jenn’s pre-uniform-crisis outfit? And the Pink Room?
The Pink Room is fantastic because you just KNOW the only person in the school who doesn’t hate it is Geri.
And maybe Al.
YO.
So. I have to double check that I didn’t accidentally mix in some filler into the chapter one category, by I’m preeeeeety sure this is the 88th comic. which means in a month it’ll be the 100th. I don’t know exactly how I’m going to celebrate, but I know I want to involve guest art and comics somehow. So, I’m going to approach a few people, but if you want to do one, don’t feel the need to wait for me to approach you: just do something! It’ll end up somewhere on the site, somehow. Okay? More details nearer the time.
I REALLY missed a trick by not having her ask if it’s interrogative rather than declarative, for reasons you’ll only get if your a linguistics nerd.
A THING I FORGOT TO MENTION ON MONDAY: It’s Timothy Winchester’s Wizard week over on his main site where there are comics by him AND his blog, where there are drawings by other people (including me on one of the days, although as of when I’m typing this mine aren’t up yet). All the wizards I’ve seen are great and Timothy’s comics are ALWAYS wonderful and fun.
Also, I’m free from foundation, more or less! That feels weird. I do have a job now though, although so far that’s been pretty fun! First day was crazy busy but second day was just right.
In terms of the comic, I think I’m finally starting to GET how to use the watercolours. I know everyone has their own way, but I’m loving the effect I’m getting this way. What do you guys think?
HI!
So, this is being inked with the nibby dippy pen like I said. This time I could really do with feedback: keep wrestling with this to see if something good comes out eventually (not saying it isn’t fun or that this is necessarily bad, I really can’t tell) or shoudl I just go straight back to the brush?
Hope you all had a nice weekend!
Hi!
SO. After that, I think next page will have a change of scene, and a change of something else which I won’t say now. Seeing as it’ll be going up tomorrow, you won’t have to wait too long to find out! Normal updates resume tomorrow. That said, I want to remind you that you should tell me if you preffered the way I did the comic this week to how I had been doing it. If you go to the about page there are a few ways of contacting me, so go ahead.
I think that’s all I need to say. Oh, MCM Expo is next weekend, I’ll do a blog post during the week about what I’ll have with me, and begging you to come along.
Heey! One more to go this week, then I’m probably going to be back to just monday updates, unless you guys have really liked it being every other day like this. If you have, it means changing the way I write the comic a bit, so it would still take a while to implement, but I’d definitely see about starting it with more regular, smaller updates as oon as possible.
Illness news is that I think I’m on the way to being recovered. Throat is less swollen, but I have been coughing my lungs up. Oh dear.
In college news, I chose the graphics pathway. I’m pretty sure I made the right choice, that’s all I’m going to say.
Hey there! Here is the next bit of the page. Next one goes up friday! I’m pretty ill right now (managed to get ill between uploading mondays comic and waking up the next morning. Annyoing, to say the least) so I will warn you that Friday’s and Sunday’s comics might be a tiny bit late, but I promise they’ll go up those days.
In college news, as well as having assessment next week, I have to pick my pathway by 4:00 on thursday, and I’m pretty stuck. Oh well! See you friday.
Hey there! Bet you’re wondering where the rest of the page is aren’t you? (well if you aren’t you should be!) Allow me to explain!
Basically, next week is Assessment week for me at college, so I have a lot of stuff to get finished off this week. This weeks page was always going to be a sort of collection of little strips like the one above, so I thought, why not do them one at a time and post them every other day (i.e. monday, wednesday, friday, sunday). So that’s what you’re getting. On those days, there’s going to be a new ‘quickie comic’ like this one. The total time spent on the page might actually increase because of having to re-mix certain colours, but it means I can spend virtually all day working and spend an hour (at most two) on these, and right now that is really useful.
What I want to know is, do you think I should KEEP doing them like this? Let me know at the end of the week. Once this week is over you’ll get at least one old-style full page, because I should have the time to do that next weekend (if I haven’t got the work done by the sunday before assessment, I’d be pretty screwed anyway. (in other words: I’ll have all my college work DONE by next sunday)) but if you guys like how this week has gone, LET ME KNOW and over time I’ll make a transition somehow. It might be easier on me in the long run, and means more regular comics for you.
That said, I have ordered 500 flyers for shows saying that it ‘updates mondays’. So yeah.
