Hey there!
So, that exciting news is still coming, but not for a few days. Can you wait that long? Well you’re going to have to so that wasn’t a sincere question.
You may have already worked out that on the whole this chapter will be a lot more light hearted than the last one. the last one had a lot to do with resolving drama that had built up in the previous one, but that is resolved. so before I get to anything serious in this one there’s gonna be some funnies. Or at least I hope this is funny…
To come up with a fake band name I appealed on Twitter and got a MUCH more enthusiastic response than I anticipated. So I ended up not going for any of them and instead going for a band name generator idea Dan gave me.
He also suggested: Real life non metal bands in metal writing (which would be HILARIOUS but doesn’t do what I wanted to do i.e. avoid real life bands, and then he came up with some names just to be excessively helpful: Azathoth, Yog-Sothoth, Dagon, Nyarlahotep, The Shogoth, Yith, Wilbur Wheatley
Another Dan gave me ONYXBLADDER and BLOODCRUSHERZ
Gary gave me Hot Vomit
Mike gave me Molten Slag
Dave gave me Tools of a Broken System, citing that Miss D would probably like political metal.
Luke gave me Teutonic Steel, Deathtime Imperion, Ümläüt, Chainsaw Handshake, Poison Army, The Legion of the Damned, Last vacation in Hades
Stuart gave me WAR HAMMER (which I’d be very surprised if it *doesn’t* exist)
So yes, thanks all of you! I considered joining them all together but that’d make an even less intelligable t-shirt than the one she’s wearing.
And normal service is resumed! We’re back in school and we’ve got Miss Dautry again! I missed Miss D.
Also, expect big news soon. Proper big news. Like, 36 page printed colour comic collaboration news.
Heyo! That’s like hey, and hello? Um. Put together? My brain does these things, shush.
So, the interview happened. Don’t know how it went yet, but there’s no use worrying about it. Says the guy who was freaking out all Tuesday and Wednesday yes I know. Still though.
Anyway, assessment for the second college module is sometime next week, comics will be looking a little rushed like this one was. That said, I think it’s actually helping me loosen up and forget the ‘rules’ which is something I’ve been trying to do for ages. But yes. There is a lot of potential for rushed comics at the moment. but after this assessment, it’s ‘trip week’ to, um, London (College is in North Greenwich. Go figure) then a break and then the final major project! In fact, trip week is technically part of that. But yes, this foundation year is working to a head now.
Also, I was going to wait till they updated the website, but it doesn’t look like that’s happening, so I’ll just tell you that I have a table at the London Small Press Expo on the 12th, I’m taking over the table of Graham Howie of Chicken & Chips cos he can’t make it. Chicken & Chips is a great comic about primary school kids, check it out!
I think that’s all. Have a great weekend folks!
Hi! How are you!
I’m not great, but I’m not gonna bore you with that shizz. What would cheer me up and make my day though would be if one of you bought a comic or a poster from my SHOP WHICH OPENED WEDNESDAY.
(that’s not just reckless commercialism, it really would make my day worth it)
Hope you all have a great weekend, come back monday!
Ta daaaa!
I’m working on a thing at college that is going okay I think. I might show you when it’s done. I might not. WHO KNOWS?
It has reminded me of a way I like to work so next weeks strips will have a slightly different look because they’ll be inked a different way. This is part of the ‘improving the art’ thing I’m trying to do. If it has a better result, it’ll stay.
Have a great weekend!
Hey there! Hope you all had a good week. Okay, before this weeks comic person plug thing, important news that will hopefully not affect the comic, but I think you should know anyway.
This week, I’m starting my art foundation year. I don’t know how much free time this is going to leave me to work on comics. As it is, I’ve got next weeks page finished and a bit of the page after that done too. I’m going to aim to keep ahead so I don’t miss an update, and even if I end up not being able to update on a monday morning, I will do everything I can to make sure a page goes up sometime during the week. As I said though, hopefully I’ll manage to keep up the current update schedule without slipping at all.
Okay, comics plug time! This is one I probably should have done a few weeks ago, but oh well. Anyway, if you’ve not read any of Lizz Lunney‘s comics, now would be a good time to change that. She does mini comics that you can buy (Definitely worth it: if I’m in need of a laugh I know I can always count on one of the two I have to cheer me up) but she also does free Online Comic Sushi, little comics that will brighten up your day. I’d suggest going through and reading all of them, especially since during she did one a day, and has continued to do fairly regular ones since then. You’ll find ducks, cats, lemons, unicorns, and more there. Go! Enjoy!
